Hello i have the chance to buy a original T25 turbo with zero shaft play. It has an internal wastegate and i am going to be running around 6-7 psi on my stock bottom end before i start building it next year. I have a chance to buy a used 38mm Turbonetics Delta wastegate with a 8psi spring already in it. I wanted the 5-7 spring but cannot find it because i believe Turbonetics does not make these kind of wastegates.
The guy that is selling me the turbo said the wastegate on the turbo is set from 7-9 psi from the factory (which i dont believe because he is a die hard Honda enthusiast). Is this true???

Can i use the turbonetics evolution spring on it or should i buy the wastegate actuator and skip on the Delta Wastegate??

Here is the actuator:
Turbonetics Dual port wastegate actuator - TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE

The stock wastegate on a T25 is set at around 10psi. I've seen them go to 12. So he was close, but wrong. The difference of 2 or 3 psi on a 420at can be deadly in certain situations. I agree with keeping the boost low. Your best bet is to external wastegate it with a 5 or so psi spring. You CAN rig the stock wastegate actuator with a spring like they do in the Civics to keep boost down, but IMO, external wastegates are much more solid at holding a specific psi. Then if you want to raise it a bit, all it takes is a MBC. Good luck!

Does anyone know or ever heard of the 38mm Delta wastegate because i can get it for a good price but cannot find a 5-7 spring on it. Can i use a Turbonetics Evolution spring or just keep the 8psi spring because when i boost it i am going to put a MLS head gasket and ARP Head Bolts to keep it safer.

I am not a crazy driver, I usually keep it cool 98% of the time. I just want it to hold for at least a year without it blowing.

Had one; sold it on eBay a month or so ago freshly rebuilt with a brand new diaphragm. It had a 7psi spring.
