Okay, so i got my car started yesterday and took it for a ride. When I got home, I noticed I had an oil leak. So I got under ther car and found out that there is a small hole in my oil feed line comming off of the filter houseing (the lower line). So I went to the dealer to see if they had any. When I got there, they said that the 95-96 line was discontinued, and they said that the 97-98 turbo line was different? Is it really different? Also, I was thinking, would it be okay if I took the plug from the head out (passanger side) and ran a line from the head to the turbo? I will be running a FPBig T-28, or is the oil pressure too low and/or too dirty comming off of the head. If so, what do you guys suggest for replacement? Links would be super helpful!

Thanks a TON!

First, are you talking about the feed line or the return pipe? The feed line is very thin and connects to the top of the turbo. The return pipe is about 1-1/4" diameter and goes from the bottom of the turbo to your oil pan, and it has a flex section to make the bend into the pan.

I have a FP Big28, and it mounts the same (same center section), but I've heard in one post that FP requires that you change your oil feed line, or it will void your warranty. They never told me this, and I've not yet asked them about it. I haven't installed the B28 (waiting on porting tools), but I've held the stock and B28s side-by-side, and they both use the exact same Garrett center section (where the oil and coolant lines connect), and the housings are the same on the outside (same bolt locations for oil/coolant lines and manifold, O2 housing, etc.)

Anyway, if it's your return pipe, you can get OEM replacements. For the feed line, you could do what steve-o said and replace this section with a braided line.

In any event, I'd check out the warranty issue with FP. They may require a larger, braided line to keep in warranty. I've sent them 2 questions about the FP Big28, but I never heard back from them, so maybe you should call them.

kenamond, I was definatly talking about the oil feed line just that I meant to say the low lower section of the oil feed line was leaking (you know, because its in two pieces). I will definatly e-mail FP about the feedline warranty..

Steve-o, Thanks a lot for the link. Is that line larger in diamter than the stocker? If you get it installed, let me know how it goes!

Drive back to that dealership and PimP slap that guy! I just ordered one MR204474 and according to Mitsu parts it's suppose to fit a 95-99.

the custom braided lines are great. picked one up made it fit over the weekend for my awd w/all adapters. $30 bucks and from a local hose company...

If you find out anything about the feed line from FP, let me know (PM) - I'd appreciate it.

When my plastic 2G BOV vaccuum nipple broke off and I took it in to my local shop (before I discovered this site) the guy told me that I had to replace the entire turbocharging system @ $1200.ROFL He wasn't trying to screw me either - he looked in his computer, and that's what it said.

Got my die grinder in the mail today, so I can start porting!!:rocks:
