So i have a AEM Truboost boost gauge with the electronic boost controller, and recently my seluniod for the EBC shorted and I'm almost positive it fried some of the wiring because I bought a new seluniod and it still didn't work. So a buddy gave me his old MBC and I tried installing it tonight and still didn't get any change in boost levels from it.(Unless i installed wrong up pretty sure i didnt) So my question is, is there anything i need to change to us a MBC after having a EBC? The truboost was on my car when i bought it so Im not to familiar with it. So is there anything i need to change in order to use this new MBC? Its stuck at 9-10 psi and like i said after installed the new seluniod it didnt go past 10 psi and still showed error 5(code for shorted or disconnected seluniod) on the guage and still wouldnt boost past 10. (i do have 16g) Any help appreciated, Im getting tried of low boost! :p

Just to verify and make sure, do you have the MBC set up like this:

If you have it set up correctly, like the link above, and you are still having trouble making desired boost levels, I would look into a boost leak/vacuum leak. You might have left one open since the removal/install.

What type of MBC, can you take it apart and check the spring tension/pressure inside the controller?

What wastegate are you running? Stock internal?

Yes it is stock internal, and the MBC is a no name, but it worked just fine on my friends car.( im only using this as a temp. fix dont worry:D)

I took a few pics to help out a little - but they wouldnt load on here so there on my profile in my pictures if you could give a look. The first pic has it set up as my old seluniod was, wastegate line and vaccum line tapped from bov line. I know that link said not to do that, but thats how my ebc was set up and i have no where to hook a line to on my j-pipe or on the front of the turbo. So please take a look and tell which setup looks correct. I do still need some vaccum line on one of the pics

try running the line from the pressure source directly to the wastegate. This will allow you to only build wastegate pressure. which will depend on the spring thats in the wastegate if it is an external wastegate or will depend on the wastegate actuator if internal. this is assuming the wastegate is in full working condition.
