I read this post by Tom and wanted to see about some clarification. I though posting the questions here would keep some of the added discussion out of the vendor announcement thread where I found the quote.

These are complete copies of your fuel and timing maps that you can switch between at any time. You can either have these switched on automatically based on a set of criteria you define (for example, to switch in a set of aux maps when nitrous activates) or you can define an input into the ECU to have active control over the switching function yourself with an external switch of some sort.

You can also have the secondary fuel adjustment kick in as well, making the e85 compensation automatic with the flip of a switch.

I was looking at this picture on the ECMLink website showing a screenshot of the soon to be added feature.

The first thing that popped into my head was a way to configure things to self compensate if my meth injection fails. For example, if the ECU does or doesn't see power at a predefined ECU input, it would default to a "Safety Map". Maybe something with baseline injector compensation and stock timing so I don't blow anything up.

Right now, I'm running a clogged nozzle detector, but it only alerts me to a a problem by turning off an LED mounted on the dash. So you have to be looking at the light, then you have to react if the light goes off.

Would there be a way to set up the software so that it would automatically switch to the safety map should the detector indicate a problem with the injection?

But I guess something would have to be done, since the light is normally off and only comes on when the meth is activated and the system is functioning normally. So perhaps something like, "if the ECU sees no power to this particular input from the detector and TPS > 50%" then it switches to the secondary map.

Yes, you can do it.

In the upcoming release the idle switch can be used as an input (much like the clutch switch). The idle switch simulation (based upon TPS) makes this switch redundant.

So you could configure selectable maps to switch based upon the idle switch by removing it from the tps and using something like a relay to ground it when the meth is active/inactive.

i was originally wondering about this for V3 users, now im excited to see its in the works.
