Ok, my other thread got throwb in the graveyard before i could have all my queations answered. I was given some potentially useful info in the other thread but the more i read the more i became confused. Lol.

My new question is: how swappable are replacement turbos? My mechanic had another manifold and turbo on the eclipse engine he sold me. He said there was something different about the turbo and he couldnt use it on my car because the tube that went to the intercooler was in a slightly different place. Does this sound normal? When people buy these second hand turbos is there much refabrication neccessary to make it fit?

What turbo do you have? If its not a stock 95-99 turbo then of course some modification is going to be needed to make it fit. The 90-94 eclipse/talons/lasers came with a different style turbo. The autos came with a 13g and the 5speeds came with the 14b. Hell it could even be a 16g. Can you post a pick of the turbo inlet or post the serial numbers on the compressor housing?
