Swapping Low Rise with High Rise

Sooo I heart the 97-99 turbo wing wayyyyy more than my 96 low rise three piece o' crap. I've done a good bit of research to no avail and my question is how would I go about plugging/fixing the holes that would be left in the quarter panels of my car after I remove the parts of the spoiler attached to them? Also, how would I go about matching the high rise spoiler to my hatch? I've been told that I would have to drill new holes to install the 97-99 high rise spoiler and I just wanted to verify this.

Hahaha! You need to weld the holes shut. If you just cover them with bondo, they will crack and look horrible

I still would stick with fiberglass unless you are ready to weld, grind and basically respray that entire panel.

Yes you will need to purchase the entire hatch (most junkyards hear only sell the hatch w/ wing because if you just take the wing it leaves holes.

Or

Drill some mounting holes.

NEVER use Bondo to patch a hole, weld in a peace of sheet metal then work smooth and paint.

Well I appreciate the quick response guys. This is but a dream for me at the moment I just won't feel complete until I have that damn spoiler oh well I will have it eventually haha. Anyways thanks for the advice everybody I'll be looking into doing it now.

Holl hell I didnt even read the post about the metal hahahahahhahaa.. Of coarse you have to have something solid in the damn hole. Bondo alone is like patching the hoover damn with grass and mud. Geez you all assume the worst. There is some common sense involved in doing things too haha

Step one- chew some gum and pack it in the hole!

Step two- buy fingernail polish that matches the paint.

Step three- paint gum and let dry. Then proceed to get trashed!

Put a piece of screen with epoxy on the backside and let it dry for a day and then fill with filler, sand and prime and then paint.
