I'm doing what my title suggests. I just cleaned out my alum rad and was wondering if I can use the blue coolant from work that all Hondas get (I work at a Honda dealership for the record). Is it compatible with our cars? I don't know what brand (although I'm pretty sure it's just Honda brand), or what make up it is (i. e. mix % or additives). I'm only thinking this basically to save on the cost since I work at Honda and get the coolant much cheaper than the Prestone I normally use. Anyone wish to weigh in on this idea? Would be insightful. I'll take a picture of one of the coolant bottles tomorrow to post up on here.

:confused::confused::confused:

I once put regular antifreeze into a s10 that "required dexcool" (the orange coolant) and did not have any issues. I don't see why you would have any problems swapping yours!

I read a post yesterday that said our cars are supposed to use Dexcool also. Always used the Prestone 50/50 stuff.

Here's a pic of the coolant bottle...

Well I guess I WON'T be swapping to Honda's coolant. I just checked with parts for my discounted price for 3 gallons (which I'd need since I'd have to drain the engine as well so the 2 types don't get mixed, and the alum rad holds a lot more than stock) and it came out to $41.00. So I might as well stick with the Prestone brand so I don't have to drain my engine. Won't be discount priced, but will still be cheaper since I won't need to buy as much.
