I am curious if anyone has ever done this procedure? I am wondering if I will have to change the engine mounts around... and also curious of the difficulty. Any information would be great....

This is not advanced, and yes its been done. You have to do cutting and welding on the unibody and change the entire subframe. It's not worth it.

And your post makes no sense whatsoever, 4G63's are also DOHC.

Talk about EXTREME 'tuning'.

Holy Flame Retardant Suit, Batman!

This is getting too repetitive, I just posted this answer last night in another thread:

It won't fit without some work. Basically what you have to do is rip out everything in your engine bay, like p/s lines, a/c lines, mounts, etc. (very long list of stuff) and start all over with turbo car stuff, because, in case you haven't noticed, the 4g63 sits backwards from the 420a, which is the crappy dodge neon motor you have now.
I am actually trying to find a turbo parts car for my swap, 420a-4g63T
which I am only doing because my 420a was knocking reallly bad. My motor is out now and I am starting to make a list of stuff I will need for the swap, and it is a very long list.

Try searching, awhile back there was someone who did this swap, and there is a tech article about it under misc. too. If your motor runs, just get the turbo kit from Hahn Racecraft or make your own kit.

Here is a link to someone else on dsmtuners who has done this swap:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=65175&highlight=4g63+swap

And that tech article doesn't really have very much useful info if you are going to do the swap yourself.

btw, if you are using the 1st gen trans, you have to cut the frame for the trans to fit, and I have pictures to prove it is different from a turbo car. This may be true with the 2g trans too.

1g and 2g trannys are about the same size bellhousings...within a half inch in any dimension.

Why go through all the work? Its not like the 420A has any huge inherent flaws. Just build that.
