Alright I bought a 1994 gs-t for 1800 from this guy, I get it running then it starts making noises in the engine (knocking) only after about 50 miles of driving. I take it to a shop that works on a lot of DSMs and he said it crankwalked :'(, should I swap in a 6 bolt or just not waste my time.

I don't see why you can't swap in a 6 bolt, just change the mounts.

I got a 6 bolt shortblock and head and manifolds..... P.M. me if interested...

Wow, people still believe crankwalk horror stories, more than likely just spun a bearing, ask him the end play on the crank and check too see if it's within or out of spec.

yeah i highly doubt it walked. that was a 2g 7 bolt prob not a 1g. the 2gs had diff (cheap) main bearings that caused the walk so id pull it apart and see whats going on before you get a diff motor

the first gen is a direct bolt for the second gen, the flywheels come in AWD or FWD in either 7 or 6 bolt patterns , so pay attention to that and the inlet ports are much larger in the first gen, it may cause you to change ECU's for different injecters

Thomas Lewis told me it crankwalked and the reason I got a 1g is the reason for it not too. I told him to keep my old engine because I am swapping it with a 6 bolt but I wanna take my 7 bolt apart and see what's going on

I'll try and do that Monday when he works again. I don't wanna spend the money on gettin one swapped but I do want a 6 bolt. But I'd rather make sure my other engine is ok first.
