How does a Supra TT fuel pump compare to a walbro 190?

The Supra TT pump smacks the Walbro 190 AND 255 around like ragdolls.

But the Walbros are much cheaper, much easier to install, and the Supra pump is overkill for most people.

I got a Supra pump, and it required me going to the autoparts store for some custom ring connectors, nuts and lockwashers. Also, I couldn't put it in with out leaving the fuel gauge harness unplugged, so now my fuel gauge doesn't work. (The supra pump is twice the size of the Walbro units)

On the positive side, the Supra pump is silent, very high quality, and I never have to worry about leaning out.... ever. :thumb:

Here is the web page with the info: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/fuelpumpflowrates.htm

Also see www.vfaq.com for great install instructions.

i wouldnt go that far..i would take a 255hp over a supra pump...its known that the supra pump tends to drop of in high FP/RPM...theres been a number of supra owners with twin stock supra pumps that lean out at high boost/rpm and by switching to the walbro 255's it remedies the problem.

but either should be plenty for most setups..

That's correct. Turbo magazine ran a test and the Walbro 255 performed better than the supra pump.

The results of which seem to conflict with the tests done by RC Engineering and posted on the RRE website. These tests show the Supra as flowing more than the 255 AND 255 HP. But for minimal mods, neither is required. A smaller upgrade pump should work find and not result in problems with overflowing the stock FPR.

I was able to install a Supra pump in a 95 AWD(should be basically the same as a 96), and had no problems retaining the fuel gauge sending unit, and all other parts. It was a pretty straightforward install. But its overkill for what you are doing.

The supra supposedly flows more don't it? Like 280-290? but seeing that a supra pump is 200$+ and a walboro 255hp (high pressure) is 110$ , you can't beat the bang for the buck.
