The sliding visor is falling apart. The cloth is hanging and dust is falling everywhere. Is there a way to remove it and paint the bare metal then reinstall it?

thanks

^ Yeah, it's a easy process, just unbolt the sunroof and replace the visor. Shouldn't take more than 10-20 mins.

It's really easy to do, I did it when I re-did my headliner in black. It's just 6 screws holding on the glass (I pop the sunroof and let it slide a little bit back so I have easy access) then you can get access to the visor. Let me know if you need any help.

mine is doing the same thing I was thinking of pulling it and refinishing it somehow. I just don't like the idea of starting any leaks, mine doesn't, and I don't want to start any.
I have taken mine out about 3 times and the only leaks I have is from the old weather stripping which was nothing new. As long as everything aligns correctly and bolted tight you should be fine.

As for refinishing it, when I did my headliner I just added the material to the visors like you would doing a headliner.

FWIW, my car came without the cover on the sunroof. I can't say that I miss it. If it were me and it was causing problems, I would probably just remove it completely.

thanks for the great info. ill remove it and probably just paint it.
