Sunroof won't open just cracks a little

I just got a dsm n the sunroof won't open up it makes a clicking noise but it does crack open but doesn't open all the way back what can be wrong n how can I fix this problem

i don't think we've ever had a problem with the sunroof not opening. i know a couple times the cable got stuck and it wouldn't close. hubby had to unscrew the glass and make sure the tracks were aligned and move the cable (i think.) try taking the glass out to see what might be hangin it up.

i have the same problem only mine wont crack the other way as well just that clicking noise

On my old 97 I had an issue like that, my friends wound up taking the whole thing apart and re-assembling it one day and it worked good as new. Not sure what the problem was though. Hopefully you get it figured out.

On my 98 eclipse, the sun roof would go back a 1/4 of the way and stop. I would have to put my hand on it and give it a little pressure while I was pressing the sunroof button for it to open. I got tired of doing these steps so when i had it opened all the way. I greased the tracks and found a hang up in the cable. I used a flat head screw driver to unhang the cable. But first try giving it a little pressure and wiggling it a bit as you press the button. Hope that helps

Mine did that and it ended up that it was off the tracks.

Had similar issue. make sure your tabs are all lined up correctly on the tracks...i also lube the tracks and it seemed to help alot.
