Sunroof wont open...

Hey guys, my sunroof is being crap...

I have to "crank" it open untill it is lifted, and then it opens with the button, the button works to close it, its just when opening it doesnt wanna move up, once i crank it up, i can use the button for the rest...i'm confused iduno what to do?!? my uncle has a RS, do u think i have to get a new motor? or what? i tried oiling the railings with WD-40, and i also oiled the motor, that doesnt seem to work... Has anyone had any problems similar to this? if so does anyone have any ideas?

I had a similar problem in both of my 2g's. Never completely stopped working but sometimes i had to hit the button 4-5 times before it would open or close. I have no clue why it did that.

My guess is that it's probably a faulty switch, since it doesn't work in that one position you described.

the way the switch is positioned is that, you hit the switch and it will vent, and once its vented you hit the switch again and it will open..., it cant be the siwtch because it will "open" just not vent...

i have to crank it to vent it... i know this maybe a little hard to understand... the only thing i can think of is that there are two differnent motors... beats me thats why i was asking you....
