Have you considered checking the other components of the sunroof system? There's an ECU, a switch, wiring, a motor, etc..

sadly i suck when it comes to that kind of stuff.. kinda was hoping it was some easy fix i didnt have to bring to a shop so the could overcharge me for something simple

Get better at that stuff or be prepared to pay for it.
These are your only options.

Check the switch and the sunroof ecu. These are the most common points of failure in the sunroof system. I had a sunroof ecu go out on me on my 95 Talon. I had another one lying around though. I swapped it out and it works fine now.

Good. Square away your typing form and you'll make a great addition to these forums, far better than most of the newer guys I see coming through..

Could be quite a few things that's causing the motor not to work. I went through quite a few sunroof frames to finally get a working one. A lot of the time, the Arms/Brackets that are supposed to rise up tend to freeze or get stuck.

Test to see if the motor is working first so you can rule that out, then as said the motor computer. If both are working, it'll definitenly be within the frame assembly.
