What's up guys? I have been in the market for a 3 inch high flow cat for a little while. I have gone through a bunch of threads dealing with high flow cats, trying to figure out which one i wanted. I picked two off of summit racing, Catco cats. Let me know what you guys think.
This first one is a 3 inch high flow cat and 14 inchs long. Part # is CTO-6907

The second one is 3 inch high flow and 16.5 inches long. Part # is CTO-2907

Well i measured my stock cat and its 16 inches long, from the end of one flange to the other. I'm getting a DP welded up with a built in 3 inch cutout. One end of the cat will have a flange welded on it to bolt up to the cat back exhaust and the other end will be welded to my DP piping. I just wanted to ask you guys which one you thought i should get. I was thinking about just going with the 14 inch cat but i wanted to see what you guys thought. Also if anybody might have or did have one of these cats let me know how they worked. Thanks for any info.

Why not look at ebay for some cheap high-flow converters?

I am confused as to why you would be concerned about the converter when you have the exhaust cut out. It seems to me that the whole point of the cut-out is to run without any backpressure, so In all honestly, you could leave the stock cat if you really wanted to.

If you are deadset on buying a catco, I would say go for the shorter one. The longer cat is .5 Inches longer then stock, and you also have to compensate for the added length of the cut-out.

Well to answer Dootwah527, right now i have a the apexi n1 dp that eliminates the cat. The performance of the dp is awesome but its loud as hell and im from New Jersey, and they dont like that very much. Also the area that im moving into has a lot of families so they wont like my loud car that much, and i dont want any problems with them calling the cops on me cause my car is real loud. Also to quiet the car up a little bit it wont bother me to add a little back pressure and with my setup it shouldnt hurt the performance much at all. Another thing is the cutout will be welded in about 6 inchs before the cat. So i can go from being fairly quiet with a little back pressure, then with a flip of a switch i can go to no back pressure and spool up being real quick with only 2.5-3 ft of exhaust piping.
I have a question for UMR98GSX. I see that the cat that you got have the metal piece welded on it for a rubber hanger. I don't remember but i dont think that the stock cat has that piece welded on it, do they?

Black97gsx--> That is an "Air Tube" that I believe some vehicles use for diagnostics however my cat shipped without the air tube. I believe that it is an extra $5 and you must specify if you want it or not. Hope that helps.

I've looked at random tech's cats a little bit but not much. I only saw a couple places that actually sold those cats and they were pretty expensive. But from what i read on them they seem to be pretty good cats.
Anson thanks for the reply on the "air tube", at least i know its not a hanger anymore, since thats what i thought it was at first.
