Suggestions for upgrading exhaust manifold?

hey everyone, I plan to upgrade my exhaust manifold before the nice weather comes. Im interested in a tubular header with an external wastegate mount. Was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions of pictures to show.

It depends on what kind of turbo you plan on running. Do you want bolt on flange, T3 flange, twin scroll? Why do you want tubular to run tubular? Check the vendors as they sell manifolds. Punishment Racing makes a great manifold (closed till Feb 1), JMFab, DNP, Ebay etc. Why not a tubular cast manifold?

i have a 16g turbo and the manifold i bought at the start of the season has start ed to crack. So i'd like to stick with something similar to what i have.

Slow boy racing makes a nice stainless manifold . and looks a little more like the stock 2g. ports are bigger than a ported out 2g manifold .

Do you absoutly have to have an external off of the manifold? If not, I would recomment the Forced Performance Race Manifold. It's DSM flanged but it's cast as well. Another good cast manifold would be the HAFE manifold or the SRB manifold. Both of those are cast with provisions for an external off of the #1 exhaust runner.

That's the problem you will run into with tubular manifolds. If they are cheaply made, they are highly prone to crack from all of the weight and shock from motor and vehicle movement. They also cause underhood temperatures to increase more than cast manifolds but cool off faster unlike cast manifolds which retain heat.

If your going to look at the tubular manifolds I'd highly recommend Punishment Racing's new mitsu flanged mani... it's a work of art. But for cast you can't go wrong with the Forced Performance or Hafe manifolds.

yeah i've had a few friends tell me about punishment racing, i'm sure its expensive but do you have any idea how much they go for?
anybody else have any suggestions?.. or pictures of ones they're currently using

Punishment Racing makes high QUALITY parts and their exhaust components have a lifetime warranty for the orginal owner for the car it was put on I belive. They are a bit pricier but it's worth it if you can afford it. If something cracks or breaks off, they'll fix it for you.

+1 for punishment.I just have their downpipe but it was a quality piece.I wouldnt hesitate to buy their manifolds.When I do a different flanged turbo I'm going to buy a punishment manifold.

Punishments tubular manifolds are goregous, and from what I have been hearing, are very high quality. Theyre not TOO expensive, but theyre no FP race manifold when it comes to price. If you dont mind cast, FP race manifolds rock. That's what I will be using this spring.

Another option if you go T3 flanged is the ERL manifold. It's tubular cast which means, strength of cast and lower under hood temps with the flow of a tubular manifold. It can be polished as well if you want it to shine. Utilizes a collector based external wastegate. It IS cheaper than the PR manifolds, but doesn't look as nice and I don't believe it has the same kind of warranty that PR backes behind their products. The choice all comes down to the Benjamines. How many are you willing to give away for a manifold?
