sudden knock???

the other day i was running late and only gas i could get was arco so i got 10 bucks worth but i noticed that on my way home from work when i was getting on the freeway on 3rd gear around 5-6k rpm i got knock, i know this cause my dsm link blinked my engine light.

on every gear when im boosting round 5-6k rpm it knocks

i ran the car till the gas was almost done and then i refilled with 76 gasoline.
ran normal without boosting for a couple miles then ran it again WOT and still had knock.
i took out my spark plugs to check them out and they seemed normal one just seemed a bit out of gap so i re gaped all of them to .28 ran the car and it better the knock but i still get it at 6-7k rpm

i have another set of ngk plugs (one step colder) that im going to put in to see if it stops the knock

does anyone have any idea what or why im still knocking since i ran all the crap gas out of the system already?WTF

hows your knock sensor looking? Is it melted in the back?

it looks like your are still running the stock lifters, from you profile there is no meation of 3g lifers. Old style lifters have been knows to cause the knock sensor to go off if they are ticking.

Lots of things can lead to knock - lean afr, over advanced ignition, dinged pistons, carbon buildup, etc....

i will check the sensor to see if it is melted.

as for the lifters i got new lifters with only 7k miles on them as well as pistons and rings.

i replaced fuel filter with another stock NIB filter.

should i try using lucas fuel injector cleaner to see if theres a difference?

my cam gears are set +3 intake -1 exhaust. perhaps its to advanced for the stock mapping.

update: ran the colder spark plugs and got some lucas fuel injector cleaner i gata run the cleaner in the system for a bit to see diffirence, but i looked at knock sensor and its not melted i have no ticking from my engine what so ever ether.
