is there such a thing as a jdm awd tranny for 2g's? iu know there are for the 1g's but im now seeing them on ebay being imported from japan saying they will fir 95-99 eclipse/talon turbo awd cars. Is this true?

Man, I don't know about those ebay auctions that say "JDM 95-99 Eclipse/Talon.....". It seemed sketchy to me when I was just looking for my 2g tranny. Obviously, I'd suggest emailing the company and ask them directly. Granted, evo 1-3 used a seven bolt engine, but you have to make sure the splines will match up with your transfer case...at least ask the company how many splines the output shaft has. I know it's hard to find these trannies, but you will be very dissapointed if you have to ship back a 130lb. tranny.

In order to put an evo 1-3 tranny in your car, you will need the transfer case, propeller shaft and rear end. I got this info from RRE. It is much better to find one for sale on the forums or at a junk yard.

I thought about doing the same thing, but ended finding this out and changed my mind.

whats wrong with your current tranny? wouldnt it be better to have it rebuilt or sent to shep or tre? don't get me wrong i know they trannys are hard to come by but if you buy one from a junk yard who knows what you'll get? it could last a year or a month and it depends on how you drive just a thought i had mine reuillt at a shop for about 800 you'll ###### end up spending more and a junk yard trans or one on here and then shipping just my .02

Well I was gonna order a stage 2 tranny from tre but they wouldn't take a credit card over the phone, only reason I was gonna go with tre over shep was that i could have one here so when I pulled mine I would have one to put in. Only reason I was looking at the tranny on ebay cause my clutch went out so now i cant afford the stage 2 tranny. So i may just call up shep and send mine in for a rebuild.
