i have the room but i need to know how big for the box and how big for the ports to open and inside the box how much airflow to have it? one inch or 2 or 1/2 an inch or whatever it is

getting off the computer for the night but if any one could help and just fill in the blanks with the answers that would help so much ill number them and hopefully i be ready to build it tomorrow morning.

Also have a pic of what im basically gonna make so any commenst of better advice would help too and is greatly appreciated.

1. Whats a good volume for a dual box of 2 12" kicker comp subs? dimensions that would fit in the trunk sitting upwards would help so much.

2. i am making it vented and need to know how much of a gap to have for the air flow to escape from the box it looks like 1 inch but not sure anyone know that correct measurment?

it will be heavy but id suggest using 3/4 in thick Birch because its strong and light ill need to know the sub specs so i can see how much displacement they have there power rating vs your amp what kind of music you listen to ill check on the 12 in kickers and see also subs up port back would be the best and yull need a around 5 in from port to back free also i need hight depth and width and one more thing check out smd.com furom

36w 18 h 15 d you need around 2.25 cubes each so close to 4.5 cubes total and tuned to 32 or so hz with a port area around 12 in3 per cube

your dimensions or only 4.45 before port witch will lower it and before subs witch will also lower it your amps low watts i know your amp is ratted at 900 but that's a lie at full tilt you will be lucky to get 12.5 volts to your amp and your amp is 60 amps so 12.5x60=750 at best id say more like 600 watts and after box rise witch makes you ohm load increase ud be lucky to get 500 watts and you listen to low hz from rap and hiphop so a big box will be low and loud on low watts do the exact same dimensions and do 1 , 6 in round 10 in long port would be good that's tuned to 35 hz id get this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=268-354
and only use birtch or mdf or oak 3/4 in thick wood and use fiberglass resin on the inside to add streangth and seal it up no strands or hair just the resin

stick with the port on what these guys are saying...

I guess its not too far off, but... if u wire both subs for 4 ohms, parallel, you get a 2 ohm load. with 300-600 (rms-peak, watts) and the jensen does 450RMS at 2 ohms... just be careful with that gain knob or you will be blowin your subs...

BTW, its probably too late, but for the same money, as 2 kickers... you could get one alpine type x, sell your amp, buy a 1000w rms amp, and really bump, ported of course...

yea check out sundown audio at woofersetc.com bad ass shit im doing a 4 sundown audio sa 12s on two saz 1500s strapped at 2 ohms 3 14 volt xspower batts two runs of 1/0 gauge wire from front to back the big 3 upgrade all 1/0 gauge one mechman 270 amp alt ganna be insaine LOL its going in a 98 blazer

thats pretty sick... But i got my subs built my box and it hits pretty hard but all of a sudden fter working for a couple days but now it cuts out quickly. i dont know if its the amp or subs or wiring any suggestions?

i dont think its the amp cause the power light is still on and the protection light is off so thats good and the subs just dont push or they try to and bump one time then quiet again from them. but the other speakers are still playing music just no bass

Id check each sub separately with a dmm and make sure they still read right, or hook each sub up by itself and see if it still happens. Id make sure the amp ground is good too.

The protection light never comes on when it cuts out?

no the protection light never came on and ill try that but think it be a audio in cable that cause it?

ya just 1 set and those hook to the back of the deck or where at besides the amp?

well i had them wired from sub to sub to amp asked the audio guy he said sub to amp and sub to amp so i switched and worked but a day later now they have turned off and dont work again... any suggestions on how i can check it?
