Ok...I just picked up a 91 GSX. Now...I did a search, and couldn't come up with the answer. Here is my stupid question. Where is the switch for the cruise control? I thought it would be on the blinker switch. I have the cruise control box in the engine bay, so...what am I missing here? Did some models and years have the set up for cruise minus the switch in the interior? I've sat in a few 1g's and that's where I thought I saw them at on the blinker switch.

Could I just not have had the switch put in for some reason. Since I do have the control box in the engine bay, how hard will it be wire up a switch? Would the wires be there by the stearing wheel ready for me??

Sorry of the stupid noob questions...I'll learn quick though. :thumb:

it should be on the end of the wiper switch... right side of the steering wheel.

twist up for CC on/off
click in for accel/resume
twist down for coast/set

why wouldnt they make it click in for on/off and twist up/down for accel/coast?? doesnt make any sense to me...

Mine does not work this way. You rotate it towards you to turn cruise on/off. You rotate it away from you, to resume/accel. The button in the end, is used to “set” and “coast”.

whoops~ im sure mine is the same too... i was just doing it off memory. but either way, its sum unintuitive garbage design. doesnt it make more sense if the end button was on/off and twisting up and down was for accel/cost?

Design kind of does suk. Mine did not work when I got the car, so I have been through the whole input test routine, replace the vacume line etc. Turned out the connectors in the plug were loose, so I tightened them and it works fine now. :)

They go to all the trouble of a cruise control system that does not run off the cars vacume and they cannot program the ECU to drop the AC when you floor it!! Go figure you know.

While we on AC. Does the AC come on when you turn your defrost on? Mine don't, just curious, cause most cars do....

ECUs usually drop AC when you floor it? didnt know that... all i kno is my gangster AC blows ice cold :D which defroster are you talking about though? rear window or front window defroster? ill give it a test when i get the chance.

My cruise didn't work either when I bought my car. It's a 90, so the cruise is a little different. So after countless hours tracing every electrical connector, etc etc...I gave up and had it in my mind to just remove the darn thing! But on one last drive, I accidently kicked the clutch pedal upwards as I was moving my foot around. I noticed that it had a little play in it. So for the heck of it, I pressed the cruise control and wow! It worked! Stupid clutch pedal had so much slop in it, it must have pressed down on the switch to turn off the cruise control!

Front defrost. Part of an ECU program upgrade is the AC cutoff!! LOL.

Ok..I was looking on the wrong side OMG ...I could have sworn I saw it on another car on the left side of the steering wheel. I'll have to look when I get the back. (It was sitting for 2 years in a guys yard, so I'm having all the P.M. done to it right now.)
