I am going to be doing a 6 bolt swap into my 97 GSt. Now, i am going to be using the stock 2g head. Someone had told me that arp makes a stud for the 6bolt block that converts it from 12mm to 11mm. Is this true? If so where can i get them?

I used the 12mm studs and had the bolt holes drilled to fit the studs. I do not think ARP makes a stud that tapers from 12mm to 11mm, but I could be wrong.

You need to adapt the head. My car came with a 7 bolt head and a 6 bolt block and it had studs. The previous owner ground down around the outside of the studs to make them just fit. I had to use the shop crane to get the head off, and a big hammer because it started pulling the wheels up off the ground. The studs were not reused.

I've had no problems running the 1G head bolts with the 2g heads. The 6 bolt 1G head bolts are not torque to yield and seem to do OK for many people. Unless ARP makes head bolts for the 4G, studs are the best option for big power.

Right on, get ARP head studs and drill out your head to fit them, if I am not mistaken you have to drill your head no matter what you do.

yeah, i have a 7 bolt head. When i put my arp's in i had to drill out my head. The previous owner had drilled them just enough to get the stock bolts to fit. It wasn't a big deal. more of a pain when i realized that i had to drill the holes out for them to fit. AND be prepared for the nuts not to fit correctly. they hit the springs. When you install it put the washers in the recessed holes before lowering the head onto the studs and put the nuts on slowly in order. they will slide by the springs, just go slow.
