Hey guys, I beleive my wastegate is stuck closed, and was searching around the web for how to unstick it without actually replacing it. One guy suggested using something called Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner. Has anybody heard of or used this stuff? He said it unstuck his wastegate. Or do you have any other suggestions? If I have to replace it, how much do you think it would cost? Mitsu said $250!! Thanks for your help.
 
ive got the same problem on my 1g turbo. What are your symptoms? mine wont hold boost at all, almost as if the wastegate is stuck completely open. Itll jump out of vacuum, and to 'O' but never actually produce boost. Is this what yours is doing?
 
It's possible that it might be just hung up...If anything...I'd go with what the other dude said...Buy a new accuator..MCCC is great stuff...I sprayed a whole can into my throttle body and had my bro keep the car alive, cause it wanted to die, with the UICP off...Either way...Good luck man :dsm:
 
Thanks for the replys. Nevasatisfied, my wastegate seems to actually be stuck closed, so I actually overboost and hit fuel cut at about 5500 rpm. Ok, forced performance seems to have 2 different wastgates for the 14b/16g, one at 10psi and one at 15psi. Which one do I need?
 
well my car did that at first. Got stuck closed and held 14 psi till about 55oo rpm. It was crazy, now it seems stuck open. I tried yanking on the rod and stuff, but its stuck good. Whats that stuff called taht i can spray in tehre? im going to try that first. Also, i thought the stock 14b turbo on a 1g eclipse boosted at 11.2 psi, so i think you'd need the 15psi one?
 
Before you waste your money, make sure it really is the wastergate.

Take off the intake hose.
Take off the wastegate actuator.
Now wiggle the wastegate, it should move.
The actuator is probably rusted and won't move.

Get another actuator.
 
is the actuator the thing coming off of the turbo itself? i took off the rod and what i thought was the wastegate at the end of the rod and it moves ok,and the compressor wheel on the turbo is spinning, where exactly is the actuator?
