for about 2 years i have had to wait 2 and a half minutes of rough idle then the car would run perfectly. Today i disconnected the Cruise Control and the Car ran perfectly started right up without a problem.

This was great but when the CC is disconnected i get a code for the O2 sensor heater malfunctioning. When i plug the CC back in the code goes away.

Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Thank you.

is it possible that you have the o2 sensor pluged in where the cruise control plug is? I would re check to make sure you dont have the plugs switched

I will check that tomorrow to be safe but i traced all the plugs and wires today. Hopefully i just over looked it.

Thank you!!!

It worked, i cant believe the guy that put the engine in switched the wires!

that means that i have been driving for the past 3 years without an upstream O2 sensor. I am surprised my computer didnt read it until the CC was unplugged from the o2 sensor wire to the computer. :D

youre welcome and on a side note when the wires were switched did the CC even work?

no not at all, strange thing is it wasnt throwing any codes for the o2 sensor either. im hopeing i will get better gas miledge now that i have my o2 sensor plugged into the right location.
