Alright guys, well last night i was driving home and i was letting my car run down and i noticed a strange noise that sound like metal grinding or almost ticking/crackling around the belt area. So i tookin it into muffler man today just to see what they thought it could be and they suggested that i was my timing belt about to go. So i took it home and a buddy came over and checked out and and he said the timing belt looks fine and thinks it might be the water pump. How much would either of these be to fix and do you have any suggestions on what one it is? Thanks for any help

Possible timing belt Tensioner failing, water pump or Crankshaft idler pulley.
Definitely have it repaired or replaced.

alright well we took off the belts and i was thinking it was something around the water pump and it seems to be the pulley that is attached to the water pump, it sound like the bearings in there are lose which could be making the cracklin noise. OR do you guys think its the water pump its self. IF its the pulley how hard is it to change one and about how much do they cost? Thanks again

alright well thanks for the link i think i'll change the water pump, but could it be just the pulley and not the pump its self? Also is'nt there a big jump from changing the water pump to the timing belt in a difficultly and money sense?
