Is there any thoughts on removing the cat and running straight pipes!

As long as you don't buy a cheap muffler you'll be fine, but straight pipes alone will be VERY loud.

Isnt there any oxygen sensor that is ran after the cat, and wouldnt removing the cat screw up the reading and possibly affect performance?

well I have a good exhaust, I just wanted to know what someone thought of it. I plan to do it tomorrow.

It will kick a check engine light for cat deficiencies. But otherwise, it doesn't affect anything.

It is technically illegal under federal law to remove the cat. Just FYI.

The o2 sensor after the cat is only for checking if the cat is working properly. The first o2 sensor is for fuel trims and whatnot. The best way to keep the check engine light off for deleting the cat is to get an o2 sensor spacer from STM or wherever. I deleted the cat on my 04 Saturn ion dd and I put the spacer in and the check engine light hasn't come on its been like 4 months now.

Yea I know no emissions test here so not too worried.

Just buy a test pipe that's made to fit. As for the o2 just get a couple of non foulers that will fit the o2 to pull it out of the exhaust stream and you won't throw any codes

I run one.. With an ebay muffler from my old FWD cat back.. My rear o2 is where my wideband sensor is..
