Stock wheels with tuner lugs???

I seriously wouldn't recommend it... I bought my 2G last year and the previous owner had aftermarket wheels and lugs and took the wheels off and left the tuner lugs on the stock wheels... Well, just about 3 weeks ago, I heard a serious thumping coming from my under my car on the passenger's side and the car shuddered like crazy. I got out and took a look. My front passenger's wheel had about a .75" gap between it and the brake rotor! And it was because the wheel had been dug into by the tuner lugs' cone tip and the wheel was riding over the TOP of the lugs! OMG My whole wheel almost fell off! So I jacked it up really quick and pushed the wheel back correctly and luckily I was near a Discount Tire and they quickly concluded the same thing as me... But that ALL of the wheels were destroyed and would eventually do the same thing in the near future, causing me to have to buy a whole new set of wheels....

I guess if you want to use them on the stocks you can, they were fine for me for a year... but if you don't have a set of stock lugs you can get them here http://store.yahoo.com/machv/oemlugnuts.html at Mach V for $49 + shipping or you could check eBay or the dealer.... Up to you now I guess.... :thumb:

something wrong with your stock lugnuts?

most aftermarket lug nuts are a cone seat taper (or something like that), so, um, they're basically tapered at the end. the OEM lug nuts fit perfectly inside the hole on the stock rim and are flat where they contact the rim (the holes are not tapered).

---although the stock lugs do have tapered noses so that they can also be used to hold the stock donut spare's steel wheel- unlike my old Datsun which had square tips, and no way to index the factory spare.
