Stock tranny?

I was wondering if the stock tranny, sidemount and clutch could support upper 200's to 300 whp. Any help is appreciated.

Ok so what about the sidemount? I hear it can hold up to 19 psi before heatsoak, also, what is a good clutch that can hold that kind of horsepower for daily driving? I hear the ACT's aren't recommended for daily driving.

Hey bud, I believe beanbag is referring to your idea on stock clutch as dumping all the time and driving hard. Truth is, your stock clutch (if strong/decent) will hold up fine, you just wont get the most out of your shifting. The stock tranny will hold with ease. And as to your SMIC question, its all in the placement of the IC and in the distance of flow travel. You should be absoloutley safe. Drive safe, Artist.

I would be careful if you do launch the car on the stock tranny and catch traction. I exploded my differential on my 95 GST launching it at the track off a studder box, and it has a big T28 running 20psi.
