How much power can a stock auto fwd tranny take? I have a 1999 GST.

Hard question to answer, friend. Alot will depend on mileage/wear and tear on your engine. I would say a very good "safe" number would be 275HP. But again, there will be many people that disagree with me, and a little more info would be helpful. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, and good luck! :)

Im not 100% sure but the guy i bought it from said it was rebuilt and now i would say about 40xxx miles on it and the engine has about the same amount. Saw receipts for all the work. I was just wondering since im about to up the boost on my car and i might put new rods and pistons on. Mods are up to date in my profile.

It can hold up to a pretty good hp number. Ive ran in the 11's on my stock one. But do look into the blue wire mod. It makes it last longer for racing.

i would recommend beefing it up a bit. its good probably up to 300 if you punish it. Alittle more if its treated nicely. Look into IPT, i have a rebuilt tranny from them and it handles pretty nicely, i love it. also probably wanna upgrade the tranny cooler
