Ok, So i was thinking of doing this new project for this up coming season, but im not sure if it will be helpful, or just a waste of money from my part...
ok so we have a SMIC for stock. trying to get the most power out of teh stock intrcooler, with stock piping, and no mods to the engine.
Is a project for those (like me) who want to max out their stock intercooler the up coming season before approching to a FMIC.
buying a small electric fan, that is able to pull air through, or one that can be reversed pularity like this:
Amazon.com: PROCOMP 7" INCH ELECTRIC AUTO COOLING FAN 12 VOLT CURVED BLADE: Automotive
mounting this fan in back of the SMIC towards the wheel plastic cover, moutning it in a the side that pulls through from the SMIC..
it is not being put in the front because it will be a blockage for air coming when driving.. air air obviously gets in there faster then what the fan can really spin, that is if you have it on while driving, you can also have it on at idle, because that way it will "pull" the hot air from the SMIC...
now that you've measured everything, i think the best thing to do is to put a mesh or some type of net in place of the plastic diameter covering the fan when it is put on.. i think is best this way to cut that off and place a net or mesh there because that way the heat will go out instead of staying inside the area and keeping everything warm(which is no good
).
NOW THIS IS AN IDEA I HAVE COME UP WITH HERE AS I WAS LOOKING AT MY SMIC THE OTEHR DAY AND HAVE READ MANY THREADS ABOUT IT SOAKING IN HEAT WHICH I KINDA DONT LIKE EVEN WITH MY STOCK ENGINE, WHICH I AM RUNNING LIKE THEE THIS SUMMER TO SEE WHAT I GET FROM MY STOCK 2G, THEN SLOWLY MODIFYING..
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT DO YOU THINK. IF YOU HAVE ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS PLEASE DOTN HOLE BACK, I AM HERE TO LEARN AND BE THE BEST AT WHAT I DO..
THANK YOU
