hi guys, let me start by saying I have searched, and I’m just looking for clarification and advice here.
Setup: stock motor, 16g, mishimoto rad and fans, dsmlink.
I was driving on the highway, temps were good, I did a little pull up to 6k, cel came on, temp began climbing. I eased off and got in 5th, it cooled a little and the cel went away. A few minutes later the cel came back, temps started climbing. I slowed down and it got hotter. Pulled over and shut down, a few bubbles were coming from the overflow tube in the coolant tank, motor felt quite hot. Didn’t have a way to check the cel, but I assumed it was the ECT sensor, so I replaced it with a new one. At this point I noticed the fans not running despite the high temps. I unplugged the ect and only the drivers side ran comes on, with the ac switch. Plugged ect back in and limped home, no more cel but temp still gets higher than it used to after a short period of driving. Don’t have a way to log at the moment, I’ll have access to a computer this weekend. where should I start? I switched all the relays around and they all click when inserted, so I think my relays are not to blame. I’ve searched and come up with these possibilities: Ecu issue, bad wiring, relay, or ect. Electronics is not my strong suit, Im unsure how to properly test the sensors or relays. Should I just wire the fans to a switch? What are the downsides of running the fans too much?
Thanks in advance.

Ok sorry I left this but I got my cable and pc and turning the fans on in link only turns in the ac fan. I swapped all the ac fan relays over and it’s the same, so I assume the fan is bad. I’ll pull the fan tomorrow.

Yes, your fan wiring is bad. Fix it. I too am experiencing this one fan cooling problem. I wiggled the wires, and the passenger side fan turned on. This is after me turning them both on thru misc tab in DSMlink.

I am running aftermarket slim fans from jegs with around 1000cfm.

Assume...that word always gets us in trouble. Check the voltage at the connector. If voltage isn't there it isn't the fan.
