since the last parts installed (new shocks) the cars driven really nicely and super happy now I have working shocks vs blown units! feels a lot better and handling is now back to a normal effect and not floating on air and very disconnected from the road its a horrible feeling of floating.

I also changed some bits in the engine bay and you may notice it as it's a HUGE improvement now not only in looks but also color and leak free! Yes the DP had a nasty crack in it so I very much hated it. This gave me the perfect excuse to remove it all and remove that god-awful heat wrap, it was a nasty thing to look at, and had to go! This meant I could fix the crack with some welds, blast the manifold and DP and then VHT paint them and install all new gaskets to as I was sure they had broken also and I was NOT WRONG! The manifold gasket fell to bits taking it off the car so it is not sealing properly at all! grrrrr

Since this was done I decided to arrange a mini UK meet and we managed to get 4 DSM's together which for our Island is the BIGGEST UK meet ever to happen! was a great day with 2 of each generation turning up.

OH and a small minor mod was I ditch the front lower fog lights that never worked anyway and installed some LED DRL's. mostly because the headlights don't produce a lot of light and will help add some more in front of me. not original I know but Its what I had on the shelf so had to make do with that.

Not really and update as such but to show the new front led DRL's. They look way better then the old ones (non oem) and when wet got water in them and fogged over so barely useful. And the light output was zero

So these are going to help the main beams and look a load better and when on really help make the car noticed.

These at night really do shine a nice path of light with the headlights help make seeing in front of you better.

Oh Cristmas day oh Christmas day. How lovely is it to work on your DSM today! Hehe

So I love tinkering on the holidays and this ones no different.

One of the last things to problem solve was my IPS switch and a higher then normal idle (no matter what happens or I setup idle struggles to go to normal) so what I did was decided to rebuild the TB completely and also Do the FIAV bypass since the wax inside gets old and does not work properly anymore for cold start up.

The other major issue was my IPS switch did not work and on a 1G this is critical!!! So with all that said the fixes are real simple.

Started off by fully stripping the TB and vapor blasting it inc the throttle plate. Then installing new metal sleeved shaft seals, biss and o ring are replaced along side the waffle gasket with the fiav bylass plate.

The IPS is still showing as on but not wired just to keep the looks nice and OEM like. But i used a 2G TPS and added a connector to the factory connector for the TPS/IPS to now be internal and activate this way. Once warmed up I got to resetting the biss screw to set idle and i opted for about 900 as its an auto and will compensate nicely for the loads and system. With most on it drops to a nice 800 and stays steady even in gear.


This was the LAST thing needing to be looked at on the Talon to bring it up to a good maintenance spec and to resolve the high idle issues. So with that the car is now COMPLETE! Its just normal routine stuff now from here on out or if parts fail will be replaced. But the car drives nicer and throttle response is now even better with a working idle switch in the TPS.

So now I am using the Talon some more (at least till I get a pickup truck). I have installed a new used lower front AC line, thanks to performance partout, and I was able to get it all to seal nicely. Tomorrow I get to do the full vac after the initial pre-checks show it seals just fine, which is amazing to see.

I will need the AC here as it gets very hot, and I want me and the wife to be comfy on some drives. The 2G DOES NOT and WONT have AC, so that's another battle, as that will be a come out in wintertime type car . Of course, once I get to race it, I will look into a cooling suit for the hot weather. This will be much needed 100%, since the 1GB Talon is mostly stock. I always wanted AC to be fully working anyway, as part of the originality but the UK was tricky to get ahold of one and even in the US it was still quite tricky and had to modify the line to mount and work ok.

I have ALL new suspension ball joints, bushes, and have ordered Prothane bushes for a full underside restoration on this Chassis. Since it is low mileage, I wish to look after this as much as I can. This will be the last major thing to work on to make it feel like new once again.

I just received my NEW license plate for the Talon in FL! HAPPY to say I am thrillled to be more unique now.

Although on a SAD SAD day on multiple issue on this current day/week + most recently with the Migrant refugee and so close to 9/11! It is a shame.

PLEASE LETS have a moment of silence tomorrow at 12 noon for both Charlie and the coverup the mayor did for the Female refugee and the 9/11 Victims! THIS MODERN US way is NOT the way to go. I LOVE AMERICA but boy its testing.....

The FLAG stands for Unity and respect but SO MANY forget this and throw it away! the word UNITED is the key!

anyway I wont go further in as its not the forum for it but I am saddened by the US and its ways and system considering we JUST migrated here ourselves!!! we do feel less UNITED then we hoped on days like this!

You’ve unfortunately arrived at the US, in a very tumultuous time. They killed the nice guy who wanted to talk our differences out. They won’t like what and who comes next.

On topic: I adore the A/C going back in. And just to tweak your nipples a little further I’ll state that this years summer wasn’t even as bad as it has been. Two years ago it got to be 106*-108* without factoring in heat index! A/C in Florida is a must for sure.

It was all over media and the news networks how it was supposedly super hot this year, and it was don't get me wrong...but it barely broke into the 90's. I have screenshots of my weather apps showing 103-106* for almost every day for a 10 day forecast. It was wild.

Went to my First Cars and Coffee event in winter park today!

Shocked to find 2 cars down another Talon owner (94) and he is just down the road from me currently where we are staying. So crazy to think how close people can be and hidden! He has owned about 7 or so and used to live down the road from Morrison fabrications which was cool to hear and then the move to Florida where he loves the heat now haha

Was a great first day out and so much so the guys running the day pulled me to the front and parked me at the very end spots for people to see the car. People loved it and its original condition. The event organiser was greatful I came out in it which made me happy its loved still by people.
