Stock Radio question

I recently bought a Q401 Stock radio, and i seem to have a problem. Im not getting any noise from my speakers, but the main thing i cant understand is. For anyone with stock radio close to mine, when you adjust the volume does the radio screen indicate any change?

Is your amp under the passenger seat plugged in? The screen on my radio doesn't show the volume.

Actually it's a non stock setup, the amp under the seat has been bypassed and instead the audio runs to the rear of the car where another amp is and goes to the speakers. I probably messed something up there but before I ripped all that apart I wanted to make sure the radio is "working". Thanks!

I have seen some light flicker like a voltage problem when it was not hooked up right
