Stock pressure plate with aftermarket clutch disk

Has anyone ever done this? Pros, cons? My clutch disk is shot but my Pressure plate is almost new.

As long as the pressure plate does not have any wear or heat spots on it you can use it. Going with an aftermarket clutch disc will give you more holding power than the stock one had. Depending on what type of material the disc is made from will determine this. If you upgraded the pressure plate to something a little heavier than stock you would have even more holding power. Depending on what your goals are for the car, if the stock pressure plate/disc combo your going to use is enough for your car then dont waste money on a new pressure plate. But you dont want to have to go back in there and upgrade it later if it doesn't hold.
