All of the sudden my stock headunit in my 96 gsx stopped working. It is stuck on one radio station and plays it but all the buttons dont work. The only one that does work is the on/off power button. I cant change channels or play a cd. any advice?

Check out the classified section for a stock head unit :thumb:

Might also be related to cold weather... You could ride it out until summer hit and see what happens...

Try pulling your console apart and checking the wiring harness, make sure the plug is seated in properly ETC... Logically thinking, the wiring harness has nothing to do with the buttons, it only delivers power, and sends signals out to the speakers... Obviously it's getting power, so it's somthing internally on the head unit...

Good luck!

thanks, I just didnt know if there was anything common that happened with these pieces of crap. Time to dust off the pioneer from under my bed!

ya the stock head units are junk. After they get used they dont like to work. Mine plays CD's for about 15 min. in the winter...and once heat gets behind the deck it skips like crazy and wont read any disks. Stupid DSM audio.
