Stock Head Bolt Max Boost?

What's the maximum boost you can run on stock head bolts w/o blowing your head gasket? I did do a search, and found one post that said 24#, but the guy wasn't sure about that number.

Well, that depends on alota stuff, with stock intercooler and assuming a 14b would even be worth 24 PSI if it did make 24 it would be ineffiecent as hell.

Making at or over 24 psi for a prolonged period of time will stretch you headstuds and cause your gasket to leak or blowout. Solve the problem by getting 2 things.

These 2 have been pushed pretty hard. When taking off the head to replace the gasket, you do't want to use the same factory studs, you should buy new ones. Just a little FYI

He has an FMIC and an EVOIII 16g.

I've read that 1G stockers can usually handle a little more boost than 2G stockers because the 2G's are TTY (torque-to-yield) bolts and the 1G's are not...

Also, the 1Gs are reusable and the 2Gs are (usually) not reusable.
