Just got my clutch replaced with a south bend rally clutch at a local transmission shop. When i came back to pick it up i asked what had made the clutch go bad(just to make sure it wasnt something i did wrong) and to my surprise he informed me that it was the clutch that came on the car from the FACTORY (also had a factory flywheel that had never been resurfaced)!? I didnt have any idea that a stock clutch would last 123,000 miles on an all wheel drive car. I bought the car about 6 months ago and i could tell the clutch was a little worn(never gave me much trouble till recently). Is this uncharacteristically a long lasting clutch? or is that pretty standard? Either way my new clutch feels great so far(well see for sure after the break-in) I feel like i have a new car.

believe it or not factory clutches tend to last forever, if your not putting down awsome power numbers. when i had mine replace i think it was a factory as well. and that was at 212,000. so if the person who had it before you didnt give it all types of hell it is resonable

My gsx was purchased new by my wife, then girlfriend, and the clutch was shot at fifty some thousand miles. I had the flywheel resurfaced and installed a factory disc and pressure plate, no performance plans at that time.

Now with 106,000 miles the clutch is definitely showing its age. It isn't worn quite to the extent that it was the first time but your not going to get better than a 2.0 60 ft. with it.

2 years ago I raced it and 2.0 was the best I could do and I can't see it being any better now. I would assume we're gettin' a little more out of this one because of a change in our driving style.

I upgraded mine and i drive it lightly most of the time (exception when i go to the track once a year and sometimes i have a little fun on the street). I upgraded my clutch to a south bend that is supposed to hold more power and last longer than the stock clutch.. we will see, i wouldnt complain if it held good for 50,000 miles honestly. I considered my clutch toast when i barely beat by a 6cylinder mustang from a 30 mph roll.

I have 129K on my stock clutch....98AWD....but it had been T25'd for all of those miles.

Now that the car is modded it doesn't like to launch without stinking the cabin up.

I have a CFDF on the shelf....just being lazy.

I got 145K out of my stock clutch (and 123K on the stock timing belt OMG ), but then I cracked the pressure plate at the track, and it went from working good to doing nothing on the drive home.

My clutch looked like it was barely used when I took it out. Perfect cond. and it is factory with 150K+ on it. Figured it wouldn't hold the power my new setup was going to put out though, so it replaced it. ;)
