A/C clutch went out

So my A/C clutch went out and I probably won't be replacing it until this summer. Is the A/C a vital component everyone should have or should I just remove it and roll down the windows this summer?

all depends on your opinion, i use mine in the winter to dethaw the inside of my windows, and use it a ton in the summer... depends on where you live and what your preferences are

I mainly use the heater to remove the fog. But other than that, the last time I used the A/C was to check if it was working before I bought the car.

The AC comes on with the defroster, to help moisture drop out of the defrosting air. Up to you as to how necessary it is.

I tested the AC again and it works fine. Apparently, the only bad thing is that the Compressor clutch bearing went out, causing my car to sound like a failing Harmonic Balancer.
I know where to buy a new bearing. My question is if I need any special tools to remove the old bearing?
