I was wondering, what is the value of a stock cat converter for a 1995 420a, is in pretty good condition. Im kinda puzzled today, a guy came and bought my broken radiator, smashed head, and catalytic converter for 60$. He was driving a gas guzzler too. Now I know in this area u can get a good condtion working radiator for 20$, because I just did. He said he was scraping the stuff, the head and radiator were useless anyways so oh well. So my question basically is, whats the value of the catalytic converter, did I get a good deal?

cats go for a lot for scrap.. ive heard people getting $90-$100 for a shitty old cat. I dont know how many ive thrown away in the past. :( I never knew this.
He just got it from you and took to a recycler and made some money im sure.

As much as I hate to admit it, I threw out two cats before because they were rusted and I didn't think they could be worth that much. I actually have another one sitting around and I will definitely not be throwing it out. I won't be happy if I don't get at least $60 for it.

Few years back in the Albany area a couple of guys went around cutting peoples cats off their cars and brought them down to the port... they were getting 120 a cat untill they got caught because the cops figured it out.

Guess it depends where you go and how much platnum is in it.
