Hey Guys,

I am fairly new to this place. This is my first DSM and first non domestic car. I can say i love it to death and is one of the funnest cars i have ever drive. I recenly purchased the car from a person in florida. He took the Cat converter off the car and is running a 3ich apexi exhaust system. I recently took it to get inspected here in VA, well it ended up failing because of the Cat. Anyhow, i am trying to figure out what i would like to purchase and want input from you all =-)
Basically i am looking for a Cat that will be able to eventually pass an emissions test. I may be moving to MA where they have emissions. I understand that i am going to lose some power after installing the Cat. i would like to try and minimise power loss and turbo lag. Below is a list of mods that are done to the car:

1998 GS-T Spyder
- Injen Intake
- Upper and Lower Intercooler Piping
- Recirculated Hks SSQ BOV
- Boost and EGT Gauges
- S-AFC engine controller
- Manual Boost Controller
- Ported 2g Exhaust Manifold
- Greddy Front Mount Intercooler
- Transmission Oil cooler
- Home made intake tract with heat shield
- 2.5'' o2 Elimination downpipe
- 3'' catback exhaust with Apexi Muffler
- Mitsubishi Heavy Engineering Big Evo3 16g turbocharger
- Stainless steel oil return line
- 550cc fuel injectors
- 190lph Walbro Fuel Pump
- NGK BPR 7es spark plugs
- NGK spark plug wires
- Alto overdrive clutch in Transmission
- Dyno tuned at 18.5 psi

What do you all think?

Welcome to the DSM scene!!

You pretty much have a good setup and if you wanna pass emissions i suggest getting a High Flow Cat. Heres a link to some good ones
EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - High Flow Catalytic Converters
You can also do what i did and just have any muffler/exhaust shop just weld on the cat to your existing exhaust system. its better than finding a whole new exhaust that isnt cat eliminator and not to mention cheaper:D

Here in Ohio we only have emissions in some of the counties. When I did live in an E-check area my DSM failed for the same reason. Instead of buying a whole new exhaust, I just went to advanced auto and bought the cheapest universal cat they had. I then took this and had to add a little pipe to one side then welded a flange on each side of the cat. After installing it i scheduled my E-check, had it inspected and passed. Then i went home put my test pipe back on. Just make sure you put the cat in a safe place so you have it when the next e-check comes up. Ohio's is every other year.
