hehe kinda dumb question but whats stock boost on my car? just wondering if its worth it to install a boost controller and gauge without bov thats all. thanx

15psi here... All I have is a K&N FIPK.

Seems to be fairly common to boost anywhere from 12-15 psi in a 2g.

Im sorry for being a shade of retarded....but the last question about my psi droping as my rpm's increase, i would really like to know if that is normal because I am about to bring my car to get looked at and I don't want them to feed me any garbage and try to charge me an arm and leg to fix a it....when it may not even be a problem

it is also common for psi to drop at WOT in high RPM, just add a K&N and do the free mods for your car. that should help it abit, with oufcouse your other mods.

I also have the cobalt series, I like em alot, u have any pics?

That's normal. It should gradually drop as the RPMs get higher.

Stock is 14psi with the BCS mod .. at least in my car. The dropping off of boost sounds like a combination of pooping out the T25 and the leaking of the stock BOV at such "high" boost.

4geze63.. 8 or 9psi on the stock gauge? is that near the small, medium, or biggie notch?

Just put an aftermarket gauge on my 97 GSX with only K&N and it reads 12.5 psi and idles at 16 vac. The needle shoots straight to 12.5 and comes to a dead stop there, no creep or dropoff. I just put on a 3" Thermal catback and it didn't change the boost at all. However it is faster and sounds oh so nice though the highway drone is a little annoying.

There are reasons why you might be boosting so high but it should really be around 11psi. It's normal for the boost to drop off at high RPMs with a 2g because the BOV leaks and the tiny turbo can't keep up the airflow at high RPM.

I have a 1g Auto and I was wondering what is the stock boost and how much boost can I get out of my stock car?

Stock boost is 8-9 psi, but if you look in the free mods you can find a little restrictor that will give you another 2 psi so you will be running 10-11. with a boost controler you can run 15psi safely.

About the free mods........... the thing that tells you how to get two more psi......... i cant figure it out anyone got it in more details?

Just got my boost gauge installed. My car's stock cuz no other parts have got here yet, but my car holds 13psi almost all the way to redline and then tapers to 10-11psi at the topend. Think my gauge is off or did I just get lucky?
