Correct but don't forget you can upgrade cams and have a fmic.mavisky said:The 1g record is 11.75 on the stock regulator, sidemount, and cams.
Ok, that clearify's a bunch, but I was thinking if you cut a stock rubber intake pipe, and put a hard intake pipe inside of that then fuse the 2 sides of the rubber piping back together on the bottom side. Also it seems with this class, they are daring you to be sneaky, so I figure if you can hide that AFPR it would be ok. Ive got a question, if FMICs are allowed I cant figure out why AFPRs arn't allowed, FMICs dont appear stock at all. Can you go all out on the valvetrain and internals since you cant see them? Also can you remove stuff like AC, and PS?SBstar said:HOly cow man slow down!!! AFPR's are not allowed, period (at least as far as all conversations from last year went, David will give the final word this year of course). Rims are fine, I would think that a carbon fiber hood would be allowed but thats one to ask David again. If you cut the hump for the spare out you would have to cover it with the carpeting, if you gut the doors you would have to put the door panels back on, full interior means all panels must be in their places, doesn't matter what is underneath. Stock intake pipe is a must, 1G bov's are allowed on 2g's.hope I've been of help to you.
The best mods to be sneaky for stock appearing would probably be, 9.0:1 compression pistons (more compression/more power), upgraded camshafts, Extrude Honed intake manifold, obviously a ported 2G/evo/SBR cast exhaust manifold, Biggest turbo you can fit in a TD05H housing (sleeper 20G??? can't remember which is the biggest really).
yeah thanks. I had no cams or anything special. Just head studs to the motor. Also consistency was key. I ran 12.2s for most of the day. On the last run I messed up on the launch but the guy I raced had his car fall on its face in second. Luck I guessSBstar said:Correct but don't forget you can upgrade cams and have a fmic. The winner this year ran 12.1 as his fastest time (mad props there Wishihadatalon). Its not just about how fast your car can go, its consistency and reaction time.

Well I really appreciate the support. Maybe next year you will find me in eliminatorSBstar said:YOu had all us Michigan guys backing you tooWe were rooting you on. Back to the subject of hiding a FPR, even if you did "hide" it, it would be obvious you don't have a stock one, not to mention like I said earlier you shouldn't need a fpr with a 190lph pump which should be plenty for stock appearing turbo's. According to David Buschur they are not allowed, doesn't matter how you do it. Switching to a hard intake pipe really doesn't make a huge difference in power anyways, if you need a stock intake pipe pm me.

Well I'll be stuck in the quick 16 (though I doubt I'll qualify, making me a bracket racer I suppose) so you won't get any competition from me. We'll watch out for you though.wishihadatalon said:Well I really appreciate the support. Maybe next year you will find me in eliminator
