Well, I started up my 95 GST (auto) for the first time in a few days. I noticed how when I gave the car some gas in Park, the rpm's would jump but would not build smoothly in a single motion. Once I let off the gas, the rpms would again climb down in a 'step-like' motion.

The best way to describe it would be that the needle is sticky and does not climb smoothly. It jumps and jumps, both going up and down the rpm guage.

Anyone know what's going on?

I did some basic searches, but couldn't get anythign usefull. But i did try.

This happened to me. And you won't find answers on this anywhere. I replaced the Transistor pack (though it tested good), bled my clutch, and fixed some frayed RPM wires on my Cam/Crank Angle Sensors, and switched my RPM source to the transistor pack for the MAFT....and all was well. Could be coilpack as well, maybe the noise filter. Start with the transistor pack (I was jsut doing basic maintainence with the clutch bleeding).

Hm. No indigo faces or anything? Might be time to look into getting another cluster. Or, perhaps a drop of sewing machine oil right at the base of the shaft.

Wow, you called it. I bought the car with some cheesy yellow indiglo guages. I'm thinking I'll take it out, but don't have stock ones to replace it. Could the wiring for the indiglo gauges affect the fact that none of my interior lights work at night?

Hm. Depending on what they did to the wiring to hook them up. You may be ahead to grab another cluster from eBay or a member here.
