Ok guys. Well i just got a new head unit ifor my 1998 GS-T. It didnt have the stock headunit but the one in it i didnt like. Im trying to take it out but it will not budge. I have taken out the cover plate over the radio and the heat knobs and stuff. And the two screws on the left and right side of the radio. Am I missing some screws. Where are they located. Pictures will help a ton. Thanks

I would go take some pics for ya, but im chillin in bed with my laptop sick :( .... but if the bracket is still in there that held the stock stereo all you should have to do is unbolt 4 screws that's attached to both sides of the radio. They should be attached to a thing that you can pull out on both sides....

lemme make a diagram...

with this setup all you will have to do is unbolt the 4 screws then you should be able to pull it out, and if you want you can uncrew the screws holding in the cd player (to the metal caging), then you should be all set!!

you should have the caging around the cd player, if you dont, i dont see how it is being held in, unless there's some other bracket.... hopefully this should help you out though, i've had my stock cd/tape (infinity deck) out about 5 times

good luck :thumb:

Thanks i got it pulled out. But what i pulled out was a mess. To save 20 bucks the kid befor me decided to not put a frigging harness in. Crap. O well im just driving it to best buy tomorw. Cuz i plan to subs in so im just gonna get it reverse harnessed and have them do it for 80$ Thanks man

if you plan to get an amp kit... dont buy one from best buy or a sound place, if you want the best bang for your buck go to walmart or meijer, they sell the 1000watt amp kits for $25 !! at bestbuy or a sound place you're paying for the brand. I have a walmart amp kit in my car and a TINY TINY rockford 40.2 (1 of the first rockford amps made), then 2 12" JL w-0 8ohm subs that hit at about 125db :) ... now all i need is a aftermarket headunit, im getting a flipout tv here soon, then i'll be able to adjuct a bunch of stuff and be able to hit around 140db
