steering wheel noise

i have a weird steering wheel noise. i just got a shop to rebuild the tranny fully, new excedy flywheel and stage 2 clutch, slave cylinder, ss lines, tob, forks, and few other things i may be forgetting. They also replaced my CV boots.
it has been 2nd day of driving the car, and right now i notice when i turn the steering wheel, it makes a pretty loud metal on metal noise. almost like bearing noise or something, i would say. i am not a mechanic, but its my wild guess to describe the noise. metal on metal. when stopped, driving, doesn't matter. I am having them look at it tomorrow, just wondering for piece of mind, what can it be most likely?
Something to do with the work they did, or just coincidense?

They did not install or grease something when the took it out to take the tranny out.

Tighten your power steering belt. Also, check your harmonic balancer.

so, i went back yesterday to the shop, and the guy told me its balljoints. I am nto sure if they didn't grease it. but he mentioned there is a recall for it, and he will call and find out for me if i can do it.
