Startup Problem

I put together this 90 talon tsi from scratch but when I went to turn it on, it only stays on for a few seconds and it turns off. Car is stock except for an exhaust and FMIC. Here is a quick video.

I'm running into the same issues but I'm pretty sure mine is ecu related. (leaky caps) mine surges and sometimes stalls with a new isc. Check for vacuum leaks, bad isc and ecu. Also troubleshooting basics, air fuel and spark.

How about reading the code to see what the ECU is complaining about.

Given the way it's running I'd also be looking at the TB to make sure the BISS, ISC, IPS, and TPS are working correctly.

CEL 12-MAFS...

My stock maf plug was cut so I got one from a junked car and just connected each wire with its corresponding color.


Either the maf is bad or there is a boost leak on my intake?

what else can set off the CEL 12 MAFS???

The car idles better with the maf unplugged if that helps diagnose it.
