Sure.

I just took it for a drive. Pulls a little better. I grounded the CAS and adjusted the timing as it was about a half-tooth off using the timing light on the Cam Gears. One thing, though, is that I'm getting a lot of knock in second and third. It pulls like a mule up until then. I also keep getting a code for the Knock Sensor. Either I have a bad Knock Sensor or the sensor is still loose. I'll try coating the threads on the knock sensor with teflon tape when I tighten it down a bit more and see what that does. If nothing else I'll need a new knock sensor.

Edit : ... Should I get a 1G or 2G Knock Sensor? >>;

You get the sensor that matches the engine harness. A 1g harness gets a 1g sensor while a 2g harness gets a 2g sensor regardless of the motor that is in the car. Since this is on your 2g, you get a 2g sensor :)

You're supposed to adjust the CAS for your base ignition timing which would be marked on your timing cover where the balancer pulley is and 5*BTDC is what's recommended and you can change your idle timing on the DA table. I could be wrong but that's what I have been informed on.

The adjustable cam gears are just to adjust when you want your valves to be open and closed. Ideally you want to set them to be matched up perfectly to your TDC by using a dial indicator and solid lifters.

From what I've read before, you can set a timing light and adjust the Ignition timing to the timing marks on the cam gears. These are stock cam gears, note. Am I incorrect in thinking this?

Honestly, if you read it and know it works then do it. I only know of the way I described so as I said, I could be wrong in thinking there is only one way to do it :coy:

But yeah Kei, work with the BISS do drop the ICSposition down lower and try to lower the overall idle. I'd say shoot for 850.

Alrighty. I'll play with that after I take the woman to work.

Now as far as the knock issue, any insight?

Could be the sensor, could be PK, or it could be real knock. What's your boost level at when it happens and what RPM?

Low, low boost. Not even 5PSI. About 4K and 50%+ Throttle.

I think I discovered the knock issue - The knock sensor was threaded in maybe. MAYBE 2-3 threads. I just got a 27MM wrench on there and had to turn it about 4-5 full turns to get it nice and snug.

Update : That solved my knock issue! WOO!

Here is a brand new log of idle, casual driving to an undisclosed location, and a 2nd-5fth pull set on 15PSI. Not a single bit of knock retard and not once did my CEL flash.

Time to start adding timing?

Yeah, without the proper wrench. Bad on me.

I also used an improper wording above. I meant Fuel, not timing. Scott, can you hop on AIM? I have a ton of random questions if you can accommodate.

Get your Global dialed in correctly. It supposed to be -40.6% and you have it sitting at-38.7%. Its really important for further tune (wot). Because if you will make you idle fuel trims correct at -38.7% of you global fuel, then later when you will change your global fuel to -40.6,your FT will be off,and you will need to adjust again.

Are you basing it off of just the injector size alone?

With ti set via the calculated global, my fuel trims are off. It's set like that after a ton of playing with deadtimes/global to get the idle and fuel trims dialed in.

First thing before start tuning is-adjusting the global fuel for a proper injector size. Then you play around with Deadtime and mafcomp sliders to adjust the Fuel trims ;)

It is alright to have globals either slightly higher or lower as not all injectors flow what they are rated exactly.

New log. I recalibrate d the Wideband and look what happened.

And Scott, don't flip over the ISC. ;P I need to go out there and adjust that. I know.

So I'm encountering a troubling issue. It seems that at WOT, if my 02 is at .8v then I seem to run SUPER rich. If I shift to the next gear, say 3-4, the 02 will DROP to .2v and my Wideband will shoot WAY the hell up. I've noticed no differences or bad side-effects during these pulls but it's worrying me. Why would my 02 be doing this at WOT and why would my wideband be functioning as it is? It's been recalibrated and at any other point in time it's perfect.

Also, in the MAF compensation... say I wanted to lean things out around 1400..would I move the slider UP or DOWN?

Guess I'll just go pick up an 02 sensor to be dedicated and move the wideband to the rear 02 sensor placement and turn off the 02 simulation.

WAIT.. WAIT WAIT. I think when I was following the demo's on ecmtuning I turned my closed loop threshold up and may have never reset it. -facepalm- I'll check when I get home from this 10 hour shift.
