Starting issue, sometimes??

I have a 97 GST and my since I'm a little new to the 2G world and ive looked over the some of the other threads about their problem. Some sound similar but in some cases they don't.

Sometimes my car wont start. I can turn the ignition while the key is in and all I hear is "click click click" Now I dont have my radio installed so when I hear the clicking sound it is coming from a plug that would sit right behind the radio. There are 2 plugs to the bottom right and the one that is to the left is the one clicking. Anyone knows what those plugs are?

Its an Automatic and it also has a Remote Starter installed. When I use the remote starter, the chances of it starting is much greater than me using the key.

Can anyone help?

have you checked your battery voltage? if the voltage is low it can cause this to happen...

Don't know about the plugs, but I would definitely check into your battery. My car was doing the same thing. Clicking sometimes, then starting 10 minutes later. My battery had a few dead cells in it. It was still working, but not very well.

Yea the guy i bought the car from said the Optima battery was a few years old so maybe thats it. When I can I will but my Evo Red Top in it and see what happens.

check all your plugs and coils

I believe the issue is before coils and plugs

try checking and cleaning the battery terminals aspecially the ground i had the same issue and turned out to be pool contact between the battery terminals and the cables..... and as far as the plugs behined the raideo do you have any pic that would help have some ideas but pictures would help me pin point it better....

Defiently the battery. Just take it to an autozone or something and they can check it for you

Well some answers. The battery ####ing sucks. I put in a new one. Car starts better than before but we found the MAIN issue. I need a need Ignition switch. Not the whole thing but the part that the harness plugs into. Looks like a black plate on the left hand side of the steering wheel.
