So i have replaced the starter this is the second time and if you go to my page im sure you can find the previous thread but backstory replaced the starter and it ran for about three weeks and wouldn't start. I had taken out the new starter and revealed some metal shavings from the starter bendix and/or flexplate but fast forward i put a new starter in again and it starts up but there is a metal clunking sound that i didnt hear with the original starter or the 1st new starter. Could it be the bendix is engaging too far and hitting pressure plate? I read something along those lines. They said a fix could be as simple as a homemade shim to shim it farther away. It seemed like it was a deeper harder clunking sound the first start after replacing the starter this most recent time. Sorry if it is confusing.
