I couldn't tell you - though most stock NA engines can handle a mild amount of boost. I'd recommend you checking out the MX5 forums for more accurate information.

I feel bad for you, having to drive a dodge neon in disguise every day and all but it gets you around.
If I could start all over I would get a clean 89-92 Nissan 240sx. They're cheap, They look great, drive and handle amazing, There's a huge online community and they're very easy to work on. The only downside is the stock motor isn't worth putting any money into but if you swap an SR20DET into the car, you'll be really well off. The motor is very easy to swap in and just bolts in.
