Start up issue

I've already searched and read and found nothing.

The car is a 1995 eclipse GSX, one morning it just started having cold start issues. It'll crank, but it won't start up unless I give it some gas (pumping the gas) then it'll turn over and everything will be fine. Idles fine, runs fine, after it's warmed up, if i shut it off, and restart, it'll start up just perfect. It's just that starting issue that's annoying me. No cels are up. What do you guys think? bad maf? fuel pump? changed the battery not too long ago, so I don't think it's that. Thanks ahead.

Everything's fine after warm up -- idle, cruise, acceleration? My first guess would be fouled plugs, follow up guess would be the plug wires are old.

That's the thing, I got some magnecore wires, new plugs. Yeah, acceleration, idle, boost, etc.. everything is perfect after that, turn it off, and turn it back on and bam, starts right up no problem. No leaks nothing. I'm thinking about replacing the maf, and then fuel pump from there. Not sure what could really cause it to start doing this. Bad injector?

My brother did put in a hks ssqv, and he's venting, could that be the problem? didn't think that's the problem because, we took the hks ssqv off, unplug battery, replug it up and it still did the same thing, not sure what the problem is.

mods on the car are. big 16g, supporting mods, 3" dp/exhaust, external gated. Thanks ahead of time.

I would also check the coolant temperature sensor it could be giving a false reading telling the ecu that the engine is warmer than it actually is and not providing enough fuel at cold start.

Thats just an educated guess on my part but it's like a $20 dollar part might be worth checking into.

Had the same problem on my 90 talon N/T... The starting problem will get worse.... Buy a can of starting fluid and try to start it with that, if she starts its your fuel pump taking a dump....
